A new video released by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shares a powerful reminder from President Russell M. Nelson about enduring life’s trials.
“Life’s personal trials stretch far beyond this pandemic. Future trials could result from an accident, a natural disaster, or an unexpected personal heartache. How can we endure such trials? The Lord has told us that ‘if ye are prepared ye shall not fear’ (D&C 38:30),” he says.

The prophet states that spiritual preparation is just as important as physical preparation, and that our ultimate goal is to be prepared to meet the Savior one day.
“Of course, we can store our own reserves of food, water, and savings, but equally crucial is our need to fill our personal, spiritual storehouses with faith, truth, and testimony. Our ultimate quest in life is to prepare to meet our Maker. We do this by striving daily to become more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. And we do that as we repent daily and receive His cleansing, healing, and strengthening power. Then we can feel enduring peace and joy even during turbulent times. This is exactly why the Lord has implored us to stand in holy places and be not moved,” President Nelson says.

The video, released Thursday, September 25, had over 42,300 views on Instagram just hours after it was released. Many words in the clip were shared by President Nelson in his opening message during April 2020 general conference. In his conference message, the prophet promised that “this year will be extraordinary as we focus intently on the Savior and His restored gospel.”
Concluding with his testimony, President Nelson promises that we will be guided in life as we seek to hear the Savior through the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
“I know that God, our Heavenly Father, and His Son Jesus Christ are mindful of us,” he says. “We are to seek in every way we can to hear Jesus Christ who speaks to us through the power and ministering of the Holy Ghost. Because when we seek to truly hear His Son, we will be guided to know what to do in any circumstance.”
