President Jean B. Bingham Celebrates Women’s Equality Day

On Women’s Equality Day, observed today in the United States, Relief Society General President Jean B. Bingham expressed her gratitude for the 19th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which granted women the right to vote 100 years ago. President Bingham celebrated the anniversary by sharing a message on Facebook about the Relief Society’s role in the women’s suffrage movement.

President Bingham continued by encouraging others to take a few minutes to reflect on the foundations created by these historic women. “Wherever you live, you can find inspiration in their stories, knowing that their work contributed to the Relief Society organization we are part of today. They are some of my heroes!” she wrote.
