The Stake at Madina was just formed in January 2018, but they had a great group of YSA attending FHE which was the April stake activity. Representatives of YSA’s from each ward assisted with the planning. Representatives of Stake YSA, Alice Apedo and Ken Dadzie, conducted and managed the events at that night.
In addition to the opening hymn and prayer, the 2nd Counselor in the Stake Presidency, President Ewudzie, shared a gospel message on “Repentance, A key to spiritual growth” He led the conversation by reading scripture from Enos ‘ book in Mormon’s Book and how his thoughts apply to today’s YSA’s.
Also invited to share their reflections on the importance of repentance were Elder and Sister Pierce, Area YSA Senior Missionaries. Though the Savior will forgive and forget our sins, Sister Pierce said, sometimes we still remember those sins that can be a reminder to help us not repeat the very same sins.
Elder Pierce also expressed an experience of having the burden of guilt lifted up by genuine and total repentance because of the compassion and sacrifice of the Messiah to each of us.
Many activities took place. Several new friends were made as a result of both events.
The evening ended with several testimonies by various ward members and then refreshments, a closing hymn, and benediction
